- Provide Support – work with a basic understanding of dementia
- Communication – strategies which take into account the variable nature of dementia
- Activities – to maintain client’s dignity, skill and health at an optimum level
- Behaviour – strategies which minimise the impact of behaviours of concern
- Self care – use appropriate self care strategies and seek support if required
