Volunteering Northern Rivers (VNR) provides the essential link between the many not-for-profit organisations working for the community in the Lismore region and individual volunteers searching for an opportunity to contribute their talents and expertise for the benefit of others and for their own self improvement.
The key functions of the centre are:
· to recruit, interview and assess prospective volunteers;
· to link eligible volunteers with suitable positions at a wide variety of non-profit community organisations, based both upon the needs of the organisation and the skills and interests of the volunteer;
· to provide information and direction on relevant training for both volunteers and community organisations;
· to promote the benefits of volunteering in the community.
