Brighter Futures
The Brighter Futures early intervention program provides support to vulnerable children and families to prevent their problems from escalating. The program is targeted at families who are expecting a child or have children up to eight years of age and are experiencing at least one vulnerability, such as:
- Domestic violence
- Parental drug and alcohol misuse
- Parental mental health issues
- A lack of extended family or social supports
- Parents with significant learning difficulties and/or intellectual disability
- A lack of parenting skills or inadequate supervision
- Child behaviour management problems (eg: parent/child conflict, school problems, parenting difficulties)
SDN works with 36 local area agency partners to provide case management support to over 200 families enrolled in the program.
Together we work towards:
- Healthy development in children
- Strong, functional and well supported families
- Reduced child abuse and neglect in participating families
